Production processes must be measured, operated and controlled and all the components must be connected to a control unit or operating unit by means of cables.

Complex processes require the use of many cables. With the traditional installation method, all the components are connected to the control unit using separate cables.

For large production processes, there are so many cables and wires that the installation process takes a very long time. When, at a later date, the design of a production process must be altered, it takes a long time to make the necessary alterations.

For machines with many built-in sensors or actuators, a bus network can be used to quickly and easily connect the devices. This also reduces the total amount of cables.

In an industrial (bus) network, one cable is installed to which all the actuators and sensors are then connected. This cable is for both data transport and the power supply for the connected devices.

Increasing use is made of fibre optic cables, since this type of cable is not affected by electrical fields. The Profibus is one of the most commonly used open fieldbus systems in Europe. The system satisfies the EN50170 standard, which means that components from different manufacturers which satisfy EN50170 can be mixed and matched.

Thanks to extensive cooperation with a number of specialized suppliers, E&T has managed to put together a balanced package of cables, panels, casings and cable assemblies with the appropriate connectors for use in these special applications.

We supply components for industrial network systems, such as Profibus, Interbus, ARCnet, etc., but we also provide customized solutions. Examples of this are ready-made cable systems, temperature and heat resistant cables, control cables, caterpillar cables, actuator and sensor cables, bus cables, and oil, grease and acid resistant cables.

Bus systems can also be used to increase the functionality of the electrical unit in large buildings, such as hotels, offices and hospitals. And these are being increasingly integrated with a Local Area Network. We connect!
